GiftAider includes two advanced features that can be enabled for your organisation on request: Clear Down Submission and No Matching. These options are controlled via your organisation’s configuration in the Sphinx database and can help tailor the submission process to your needs.
🧩 Feature 1: Clear Down Submission
When enabled, this feature adds a "Clear Down Submission" button to the Past Submission page. It appears only once a submission reaches the status Payment Received.
What it does:
✅ Allows you to clear records linked to a completed submission
✅ Helps maintain a clean dataset once a claim has been finalised and paid
When it appears:
- After you’ve run an import
- Submitted a claim to HMRC
- And the status shows Payment Received
Once all conditions are met, the Clear Down Submission button will be visible in the submission grid.
🔍 Feature 2: No Matching
This optional setting turns off automatic record matching during the import process.
What it does:
✅ Disables GiftAider’s automatic attempt to match new records to existing ones
✅ Gives you full manual control over matching decisions
This can be useful if:
- You manage records manually outside of GiftAider
- You want to prevent any automated assumptions about donor matches

These features are not enabled by default, but we can switch them on for your organisation.
