This guide takes you through your first GiftAider Breeze claim, from checking account details and donations to preparing, signing and submitting it.
Before the first claim
- Sign in with your own GiftAider account.
- Check your charity and HMRC details in Charity and HMRC Config.
- Confirm that the correct HMRC authorised official is recorded and can access their own email and GiftAider login.
- Check that the person preparing the claim has the necessary claim permission.
Import and review donations
- Open Donations, then Import.
- Upload a small file and select or create the matching import mapping.
- Place the import job and wait for its completed status.
- Open View Data to correct validation errors; download the error details if needed.
- Merge only the eligible, valid records and check the result.
Prepare the claim
- Open Claims and start Submit Claim.
- Review the preview totals and included donations.
- Select the correct authorised official and prepare the claim.
- Wait for the background job to complete. The claim should move to Waiting Auth and the selected official should receive a Claim Ready email.
Sign and submit
- Open Submissions, find the claim in Waiting Auth and select Continue.
- Check the prepared figures and declaration.
- The authorised official should tick consent and enter their own GiftAider password when prompted.
- Select Sign and Submit once, then follow the submission job to its terminal result.
Do not treat a queued job as a confirmed claim or payment. If the prepared claim needs correcting, cancel it and prepare a new one before signing.
